Despite many of the messages I hear in songs, movies, TV, and shouted by people as I walk down the street, I know that my body is a beautiful thing that belongs to only me, and is for me to love and appreciate fully, as it is, in every moment. Sometimes I forget this, but I'm working on reminding myself again. Despite what some people seem to think, my body is not to be lusted after, touched, or manipulated in any way without my explicit consent, and my happiness and self worth is not defined by how many people feel the need to judge the way I look and call me 'sexy' or 'beautiful'. To me, this project is a practice of consent, respect, and honesty, and the intent to show me in my own skin, in an honest, unfiltered, and intimate way, made me feel comfortable, confident, and free in my own body. I want to live in a world where everyone feels free to be themselves, and are unoppressed and elevated to a place where they can continue to always learn, grow, and love; I think in many ways this starts with self respect, self love, and acceptance of others as they are, in all their magnificence and miraculous existence.
